Philip Yachmetz

Mr. Yachmetz comes to Sovereign Health System with diverse experience gained from serving in the top commercial and legal roles at a number of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Before joining Sovereign in March 2015, he was Co-President, Chief Business Officer and General Counsel of Savient Pharmaceuticals in Bridgewater, NJ. Mr. Yachmetz, who joined Savient in 2004, was the Company’s Executive Vice President and held other senior roles before being appointed Co-President in 2013. He also has served as Vice President and General Counsel for Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Senior Vice President – Business Development and General Counsel for Cyto Therapeutics (now StemCells, Inc.), and Senior Counsel for Hoffman-LaRoche. Mr. Yachmetz received his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University and his law degree from the California Western School of Law. As Sovereign’s top legal and compliance officer, Mr. Yachmetz’ duties include corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions to compliance with all applicable government rules and regulations.
