John Hajjar, MD, FACS, MBA

Founder, Chairman, & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. John Hajjar is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Sovereign Health System. Following graduation from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, Dr. Hajjar earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, in 1981, and then completed his surgical and urological training at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan.

After conducting research into the genetics of renal cancer following residency, Dr. Hajjar entered the private practice of urology in northern New Jersey in 1987. In 1992, he established one of the first ambulatory surgery centers in New Jersey. This center served as the prototype for the many ambulatory surgical centers in New York, New Jersey, and Florida now operated or under development.

Today, Dr. Hajjar devotes all of his professional energies to the growth of Sovereign Health System, a community healthcare system providing people in New Jersey and New York with clinical expertise and state-of-the-art technology.

Glenn A. Gmyrek, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Glenn A. Gmyrek is a board-certified urologist who serves as Chief Medical Officer. In this capacity, Dr. Gmyrek draws on his deep interest in innovative best practices and evidence-based medicine to enhance patient care.

An active clinician, Dr. Gmyrek sees patients at offices in Fair Lawn and Wayne, NJ, and is affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center and Valley Hospital. His research on topics ranging from the molecular basis of metastatic prostate cancer to surgical techniques for treating endocrine-related conditions has been published in a number of peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Gmyrek is a graduate of Yale University. He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his urology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Orrin Feingold, CFA

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining Sovereign Health System, Mr. Feingold was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of ComplexCare Solutions, aprovider of home-based services for people with chronic illnesses. Before joining ComplexCare Solutions, Mr. Feingold served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, a global provider of services to the entertainment and new media industries. Earlier in his career, Mr. Feingold was the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of MultiPlan, a national preferred provider organization (PPO). He also has served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of MagnaCare, a health-plan management company, and in senior operating and financial leadership roles for a number of other healthcare companies.

Mr. Feingold holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also earned a bachelor of arts degree in entrepreneurship from The Wharton School.

Philip Yachmetz

Chief Legal and Compliance Officer

Mr. Yachmetz comes to Sovereign Health System with diverse experience gained from serving in the top commercial and legal roles at a number of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Before joining Sovereign in March 2015, he was Co-President, Chief Business Officer and General Counsel of Savient Pharmaceuticals in Bridgewater, NJ. Mr. Yachmetz, who joined Savient in 2004, was the Company’s Executive Vice President and held other senior roles before being appointed Co-President in 2013. He also has served as Vice President and General Counsel for Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Senior Vice President – Business Development and General Counsel for Cyto Therapeutics (now StemCells, Inc.), and Senior Counsel for Hoffman-LaRoche. Mr. Yachmetz received his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University and his law degree from the California Western School of Law. As Sovereign’s top legal and compliance officer, Mr. Yachmetz’ duties include corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions to compliance with all applicable government rules and regulations.

Moeen Haq

Chief Technology Officer

Moeen joined Sovereign Health System in July 2014 as Director for Product Development and Information Systems, and was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in 2015. In addition to serving as Chief Technology Officer for Sovereign Health Systems, Moeen is the head executive for MD Vision, a Sovereign Health System research and development subsidiary that specializes in customized software development and IT services.

Moeen has particular expertise in electronic medical records and practice-management systems. Before joining Sovereign, he served as Director of Product Development for MD-Online and Intivia InSync (an MD-Online legacy company), as Senior Project Manager for CureMD, and as Information Technology Manager for the Granville Technology Group.

Lauren Magnifico, RN

Vice President, Clinical Operations

Lauren Magnifico, RN, Vice President, Clinical Operations, has over 15 years of clinical and administrative experience. Lauren joined Sovereign in 2005 as a Staff Nurse, quickly advancing to Charge Nurse and then Director of Nursing. Lauren has overall clinical, quality assurance, and performance improvement responsibility for Sovereign’s ambulatory surgery centers. In this role, she also oversees compliance with state, federal, OSHA, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and The Joint Commission regulations.

Lauren has been responsible for the successful clinical launch of one third of Sovereign’s surgery centers, both in New York and New Jersey. She has played an integral role in the development of advanced surgical programs, including Sovereign’s Total Joint Replacement programs, with over 1000 cases performed in multiple Sovereign surgery centers.

Earlier in her career, Lauren worked at Hackensack University Medical Center and held roles on both medical-surgical and telemetry units.

Danielle Sadati

Vice President, Practice Management

Danielle Sadati, Vice President, Practice Management has over 20 years of healthcare management experience. Danielle has overall P&L responsibility for Sovereign Medical Group and its 35 locations. She and her team manage the administrative functions for Sovereign’s multispecialty medical group which requires coordinating revenue cycle management support, supervising all clinical and non-clinical staff, and liaising with the Company’s corporate finance, human resource, systems, and facilities teams. Danielle, along with Sovereign’s CMO, chairs Sovereign’s Medical Advisory Committee. She also has primary responsibility for physician-related business development and marketing.

Earlier in her career, Danielle held leadership positions in Practice Management and Human Resources and managed billing, both for ambulatory surgery centers and the medical group.
